  • Epson Expands Its Textile Printing Portfolio with the New SureColor F20030 as Southeast Asia’s Dye-Sublimation Market Continues to Grow

New 76-inch dye-sublimation printer with an 8-printhead architecture and optional Jumbo Roll supports higher throughput and production stability.

SUBANG JAYA, 1 July 2026 — Epson has strengthened its industrial textile printing portfolio with the introduction of the SureColor SC-F20030, a next-generation dye-sublimation printer designed to meet the growing demand for digital textile production across Southeast Asia. As manufacturers increasingly shift from traditional screen printing to digital workflows, the new printer is positioned to help businesses improve productivity, flexibility and operational efficiency while supporting the region’s rapidly expanding textile industry.

According to the Epson-IDC Digital Textile Printing Trends in Southeast Asia report, digital dye-sublimation technology enables print service providers to achieve revenue growth up to eight times faster than conventional screen printing. The technology is also opening new business opportunities in high-growth sectors such as sportswear, home textiles, footwear and customised apparel, where demand for shorter production runs and personalised products continues to rise.

Developed as the successor to the SureColor SC-F11030, the new SC-F20030 is built for high-volume production environments where speed, scalability and consistent print quality are essential. The 76-inch industrial printer is engineered to support fast-paced textile manufacturing while delivering reliable performance across both short-run and large-scale production.

A key highlight of the SC-F20030 is its advanced eight PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead architecture, which doubles the printhead configuration of its predecessor to improve productivity and image quality. The printer is capable of achieving production speeds of up to 306 square metres per hour at 600 x 600 dpi, enabling businesses to complete high-volume jobs more efficiently without compromising print consistency.

To maximise uptime, Epson has equipped the printer with a range of intelligent production features, including an integrated drying system with double-sided heating to improve ink curing and minimise media wrinkling. A built-in dust reduction mechanism helps maintain print quality by reducing nozzle clogging, while an automatic hot-swap bulk ink system allows production to continue uninterrupted when ink packs require replacement.

The SC-F20030 also supports optional jumbo roll and jumbo reel units capable of handling media loads of up to 300 kilograms, allowing manufacturers to reduce media change frequency and improve productivity during extended production runs. In addition, selected maintenance components, including the printhead and anti-drying cap, can be replaced by users, reducing downtime and dependence on service technicians.

Alvin Tan, Managing Director of Epson Malaysia, said the textile printing industry in Southeast Asia is increasingly prioritising production flexibility, faster turnaround times and operational stability. He noted that the launch of the SC-F20030 reflects Epson’s ongoing commitment to supporting businesses with innovative digital printing technologies that enhance productivity while contributing to more sustainable manufacturing practices.

Building on the proven performance of the SC-F11030, the new SC-F20030 is expected to support textile manufacturers and print service providers as they transition from legacy printing processes to digital dye-sublimation technologies. The printer combines high-speed production, outstanding image quality and advanced automation features to help businesses remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic market.

The Epson SureColor SC-F20030 will be available in Malaysia from 1 July 2026, with configurations varying by market. The latest addition to Epson’s industrial printing portfolio further reinforces the company’s commitment to driving innovation and supporting the future growth of Southeast Asia’s digital textile printing industry.

  • From Traditional Classrooms to Connected Learning: Transforming Education in Malaysia

Alvin Tan, Managing Director, Epson Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR – As Malaysia accelerates its digital transformation in education, the focus is no longer on simply introducing more technology into classrooms. Instead, educators are prioritising how digital tools can create more engaging, collaborative and inclusive learning environments that equip students with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

The role of the classroom has evolved significantly over the years. Traditional learning methods centred on one-way communication are gradually giving way to interactive teaching approaches that encourage students to participate, collaborate and think critically. Rather than acting as passive recipients of information, students are now expected to contribute ideas, solve problems together and engage actively throughout the learning process.

This shift has increased demand for classroom technologies that promote collaboration instead of merely displaying content. Interactive solutions such as the Epson EB-770Fi Interactive Laser Projector allow teachers and students to work together in real time through touch-enabled functionality, digital annotation and large-format displays. By transforming ordinary classroom surfaces into collaborative workspaces, these technologies create more immersive and meaningful learning experiences.

Creating equal access to learning materials is another important priority in the digital classroom. In many schools, students seated at the back of the room or viewing lessons from different angles often face challenges seeing presentation content clearly. Large-format projection and flexible display technologies help ensure every student has equal visibility and opportunities to participate, supporting a more inclusive learning environment regardless of classroom layout.

As educational institutions adopt more connected technologies, simplicity has also become essential for both teachers and IT administrators. Managing multiple digital devices across classrooms can be challenging without centralised management systems. Remote monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting solutions help reduce downtime while allowing educators to focus on teaching instead of dealing with technical issues.

Flexibility is also shaping the future of education as schools increasingly require learning spaces that can adapt to different teaching styles and activities. Portable learning technologies and mobile classroom solutions allow schools to maximise available space while maintaining consistent learning experiences across various environments, particularly in institutions with limited facilities or shared classrooms.

Beyond functionality, sustainability is becoming a key consideration in education technology investments. Schools are increasingly looking for solutions that reduce energy consumption, minimise maintenance requirements and lower operational costs while supporting broader environmental goals. Technologies designed with long-term efficiency in mind can help educational institutions balance innovation with responsible resource management.

Ultimately, the future of education is not determined by the number of digital devices installed in a classroom but by how effectively technology enhances teaching and learning. Successful digital transformation requires solutions that strengthen collaboration, improve accessibility and create meaningful learning experiences that benefit every student.

As Malaysia continues to modernise its education system, connected learning is set to play a vital role in preparing future generations for the digital economy. By combining innovative technologies with student-centred teaching approaches, schools can create classrooms where creativity, collaboration and critical thinking become the foundation for lifelong learning and future success.

  • SEEK People & Purpose Awards 2026 Celebrates Malaysia’s Outstanding Employers and HR Innovators

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 June 2026 — Jobstreet by SEEK has recognised Malaysia’s outstanding employers and human resources (HR) leaders through the SEEK People & Purpose Awards (SPPA) 2026, celebrating organisations that are shaping meaningful workplace cultures while setting new standards in employee experience, wellbeing and organisational excellence.

Held under the theme “Where Work and Purpose Meet: Recognising Workplaces Malaysians Grow With”, the annual awards honour employers that successfully combine people, growth and purpose to create environments where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential.

The SEEK People & Purpose Awards 2026 highlights organisations and leaders that are driving workplace transformation through people-focused strategies, purposeful growth and measurable impact. The recognition is structured around three key pillars, including the Top-Voted Employers Awards, the SEEK People & Purpose Excellence Awards, and various submission-based award categories celebrating impactful workplace initiatives.

The Top-Voted Employers Awards recognise organisations that have gained the trust and endorsement of Malaysian employees through a nationwide public voting exercise conducted in partnership with Ipsos Malaysia. Meanwhile, the SEEK People & Purpose Excellence Awards celebrate employers demonstrating strong employer branding and hiring performance based on market insights and platform data.

Among the key submission categories recognised this year are Best Employee Development Program, which honours organisations investing in employee growth and future-ready skills; Best Sustainable HR Practices, recognising employers that prioritise workforce wellbeing and long-term sustainability; and the Best Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Awards, celebrating organisations that foster inclusive and equitable workplace environments.

The awards also recognise outstanding organisational leadership through categories such as Employer of the Year, which celebrates companies delivering excellence across employee experience, leadership and workplace culture, as well as The People Leader of the Year, which honours leaders who have introduced transformative people practices and created lasting organisational impact.

The recognition comes at a time when employers are navigating changing workforce expectations and increasing challenges in attracting and retaining talent. According to Jobstreet by SEEK’s Workplace Happiness Index, purpose has become the strongest driver of workplace happiness among Malaysians, ranking ahead of factors such as compensation, flexibility and career advancement.

The study revealed that while 70% of Malaysians report feeling happy at work, nearly one-third remain neutral or unhappy. It also found that 41% of employees experience burnout or exhaustion from their jobs, highlighting the growing importance of workplace wellbeing and meaningful employee engagement.

Research further shows that employees who are happy at work are three times more likely to go beyond their job responsibilities and are less likely to consider leaving their employers. This demonstrates the strong connection between positive employee experiences, productivity and long-term organisational success.

Nicholas Lam, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Malaysia, said the organisations recognised through the SEEK People & Purpose Awards demonstrate that successful workplaces require continuous investment in people. He emphasised that developing talent, encouraging inclusion, supporting wellbeing and empowering leaders are essential elements in building resilient and innovative organisations.

Unlike traditional employer recognition programmes, the SEEK People & Purpose Awards assess organisations through a comprehensive framework combining public voting, independent evaluation and market performance. This approach recognises employers not only for their commitments and initiatives but also for the measurable outcomes achieved through their workplace practices.

As workplace expectations continue to evolve, the SEEK People & Purpose Awards 2026 serves as a platform to celebrate organisations redefining the future of work. By bringing together people, growth and purpose, these employers demonstrate how meaningful workplace experiences can benefit both employees and businesses.
